Iwata has confirmed that a brand new 2D Mario game will be released for the 3DS.
We have heard mention of a 2D Mario game for a while but the official 'announcement' came from the earnings briefing that was held in Tokyo today, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata revealed that Nintendo have plans to release "a totally new side-scrolling action Super Mario in 2D" for the 3DS in this next fiscal year (So sometime before March 2013) Which Mario games do you prefer, 3D adventures like 64 and Galaxy or the classic style 2D Mario platformers?
