Second 3DS Circle Pad confirmed

The rumors that a second Circle Pad would be added to the 3DS via an attachment seemed to far fetched at the time, but now turn out to be true.

The announcement first came through the Japanese magazine Famitsu which contains carries a report on the device and has a few images (above). A Nintendo spokesperson then confirmed the announcment by telling Official Nintendo Magizine that "Nintendo does plan to release the attachment; further announcements/details will be made at a later date." Which could possibly be at the 3DS press conference held on September 13th? Your 3DS will slot into the device adding and extra Circle Pad to the ABXY buttons as well as an L1 button on the shoulder.

Monster Hunter 3G has also been announced and will make use of the attachment in the words of Monster Hunter supervisor Ryozo Tsujimoto by providing a good grip on the system and will allow you to play the game with the same feeling as playing Monster Hunter Tri on Wii". So What do you think of the peripheral? Personly I think it looks a bit ugly but if it adds to the gameplay and makes certain types of games easier to control, I'm all for it!
