In a recent interview, Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma revealed that Ocarina of Time was made possible because of the "out pour of emotions from people" who wanted to see it remade, he also went on to say that a similar support could see Majora's Mask remade. A fan movement dubbed 'Operation Moonfall' aims to make this possibility a reality.
Operation Moonfall was launched on the 25th of July in response to an interview with the produce of the Zelda series in which he spoke of a remake of Majora's Mask on the 3DS to be possible if there was a big enough support from the fans, Operation Moonfall is one of many ways that have been devised to show Nintendo this support. In just over ten days the operation has seen a major success, with the petition currently standing at over sixteen thousand unique signatures and rising.
The idea of a remake its self is a very profitable idea for Nintendo, as the original Majora's Mask game on N64 only took 16 months to develop from scratch with a reduced team to that which worked on Ocarina of Time. This is mostly due to the reuse of the engine, character models, textures and sound effects from Ocarina of Time. We are now in a similar situation were Grezzo who developed Ocarina of Time 3D have the same resources available as well as the original Majora's Mask game as reference.

Majora's Mask 3D just makes perfect sense. If they don't make it, idk what they are thinking. Go Operation Moonfall!
