5,000 new Wi-Fi hotspots for UK 3DS owners

Nintendo has announced that through a contract with The Cloud they will now offer 3DS owners across the UK 5000 Wi-Fi zones across the UK.

The new deal will allow UK 3DS owners to browse the internet and receive SpotPass content automatically by passing through one of the enabled areas. The exact locations of these hotspots are yet to be announced but The Cloud says that they will be housed in outlets such as PizzaExpress and Eat as well as a variety of leisure facilities. With the recent announcement of DLC coming to the 3DS and Nintendo considering the possibly of downloadable demo's this means you could be carrying your 3DS around to find new content such as characters and stages without having to be within your home network making SpotPass much more exciting and convenient.
